lets talk politics...or not

Item of chitchat lately, thought I'd bring it to the discussion table. I don't want to talk about politics on this blog - so don't worry, we won't go there.

But I want to talk about talking about politics. See Husband and I have different political directions. He goes thisaway, I go thataway. And this is ok with me- I grew up in a household with parents whose votes cancelled each other out year after year. But the thing is is - I don't like to sit around and debate and discuss and slyly try to berate the other person's decision. Just not for me. You vote for the person that you feel is best and I will do the same. I would rather talk about other things. Like how many blocks are in a mile? What color should we paint our unborn children's rooms? What are the top five music albums ever?

But I told someone this the other day and they thought I was nuts. You guys don't discuss politics? freaks!
Anyone else? Am I nuts?

You are definitely NOT nuts! J and I are the same way. Truthfully, I don't really like to talk about politics with anyone, so I'm glad we don't sit around and discuss it. We mainly discuss how everyone else seems to always discuss it!

My fiance and I are on opposites sides. He's a political science major and would love to talk about it, but I put a halt to that. Now he just finds others to talk about it with. We talk about anything but that.

We don't really talk about it either. We have different views on a few things, but it doesn't bother me. I would rather not talk about it.

Ugh. politics. I hate talking about it, and my FI and I vote for the same people! I was never very interested in politics, so I never had much to contribute to the conversation. I do now, since I am older and wiser ;) but it is just something that neither one of us really enjoy. I'll stick to the discussion about the future-baby room :)
