that morning

I have been thinking about this all day - and Blue Eyed Bride inspired me to share...not a very interesting story, but I think everyone can picture that morning.

On the morning of September 11, 2001 I was in my journalism class. As class went on, cell phones kept ringing - the professor was getting really frustrated. It was just weird - a classroom of 300 students with all of these phones beeping and buzzing - but you kind of figure its just one of those morning.
I walked across campus after class to my job as a designer at the university newspaper. The entire office staff was crowded around this small tv, the second tower had just been hit. I was at work the next few hours as the rest of the events unfolded.
The next morning my mom bought copies of a national newspaper and put them in boxes for my siblings and I - she said it would be something we would remember for the rest of our lives. And she was right.

I can't imagine what it would have been like to be a US citizen on that day.

I was in bed watching The West Wing. I still remember every moment.

I was in Budapest at the time of this years anniversary and some expats and I had a brief moment of silence. I wrote down all of the events, my feelings, etc. in my journal maybe a week or so after the event. I was still in shock so I was very emotional when writing it. It captures everthing I was thinking and feeling. Your mom was right, it's a day we'll never forget.
