nylon outtakes

Growing up my parents were extremely selective on what we watched on TV. Basically I was allowed to watch one show: Full House. So I think thats where my fascination with the show's cast stems from. However, it wasn't until I read Mary Kate and Ashleys book, Influence, that I realized how absolutely talented, mature and stylish they really are.

Anyway, love these outtakes from MKs photo shoot in Nylon magazine.

my parents were like yours! we could only watch one hour of tv a day -- and it could not have ANY type of sexual thing, not even kissing. so that meant we were stuck watching little house on the prairie, kojak, the waltons or one adam twelve. oy.

Oh man! My parents were a bit selective with what we could watch in my earliest years too (Little House on the Prairie, Highway to Heaven, Magnum, PI... wait Magnum? Hmmmm. And strangely, my parents let me watch Flashdance over and over-- it was my fav, but how did they let me watch it in the first place??) The rules eased up by mid-to-late elementary school, when my youngest brother was born, and it was a different story altogether by the time he was mid-elementary school. He could even watch The Simpsons any ol'day (which was completely forbidden in my elementary school days!)

Anyways! Full House was a favorite during both the strict and non-strict tv times in my family's life. And those photos are gorgeous.

I never understood the strange fascination with these two...? Then one day, in a moment of weakness, I watched them on Oprah. I was most surprised at how much I liked and admired them after the interview!

I guess the universe was tellin' me to get on board? But, I am tellin' you...The Jonas Brothers will never get me to cross over!
