tasty

The only thing I love more than fresh watermelon is the summer is the tomatoes! I could eat a gazillion. The best way to have them? With mozzarella and basil, of course. The basil would be a lot better if I could keep a fresh plant alive:)

What's your favorite summer food?

Yummy! I was just talking about caprese salad today. I'm growing my own tomatoes and basil, can't wait til the tomatoes turn red!

It's too bad you're not closer. We have about 4 tomatoe plants (Matt's choice)that are starting to ripen, but I really dislike raw tomatoes. If I had my way, you'd get all of them so that you could gobble them up with glee... Lord knows, there were be no gleefull gobbling of them from me!

this looks SCRUMPTIOUS!! so perfect for hot weather! bah! now i want some. maybe this weekend!

i have been trying a few new recipes that don't involve COOKING. it is so hot here.

my favorite summer food is still ceviche. with beer or margaritas.

and i dig tomatoes, too. used to hate them (for the first 30 years of my life!), and now i can't get enough of them!

SORRY FOR WRITING A BOOK HERE!

Mmmm- our tomatoes are growing beautifully! If we could just keep the friggin squirrels off of them we might actually get to eat one! We've pulled exactly one so far, we've started spraying Texas Pete on them to keep the critters off. This salad will be our goal! -e

So, I've never really been a tomato fan, although I love tomato-things (salsa, sauces, soups, even fried green tomatoes, etc.) It's a texture thing. This summer, however, I have been eating caprese salads like crazy, and it makes me feel rather grown up :)

OMFG...That looks good. LOVED your ROMA email!!!!! haha...thanks for your wonderful response.
I adore cold pasta salads in the summer...so many options, not a huge fan of tomatoes unless chopped up small, its weird, i'm odd about the texture and i find they water things down in sick way...i dunno. but its funny i used to hate onions years ago...and I can't imagine life being complete without the Glorious-ness of onions, from green to red...oh god onions are amazing.

Do you have the recipe for that picture dish...it looks incredible. bring on cooled down summery food madness.
