nyc : part 3 : bars & restaurants

Oh mylanta the bars and restaurants. Amazing.
.
The first evening we were on our way to a show so we had dinner at Blue Fin in the W Hotel at Times Square. Check out the website for a better idea of the amazing interior - check out the starfish wall behind the bar! We also ran up to the lobby in the W - gorgeous space!
.

.
An anonymous reader recommended The Little Owl and reader, we owe you BIG TIME. This place was just perfect - the adorable interior, the cozy atmosphere, perfect table by the window and AMAZING food. To say we loved it is an understatement!
.
.
One afternoon we stopped in the Gramercy Park Hotel. I had drooled over shots of the gorgeous interior too many times to not stop by. We decided to have a drink in the beautiful (lil pricey) Rose Bar... and realized at one point that an Oscar nominated actress was sitting one table over. Hello star-struck. I kept my cool.
.
.
Our trusty Wallpaper guide recommended Bar Veloce and we popped in for a few glasses of wine after dinner one night. It was a teeny bar with a cozy feel and a fun crowd.
.
.
We braved the pouring rain one evening and made it to Kittichai for some yummy thai food in a lovely space. I had the best.cocktail.ever.
Some yummy creation with smashed raspberries and deliciousness.
.
.
Gilt was recommended to us for the amazing interior (you know the saying don't judge a book by its cover? we judge restaurants by the interior design) We stopped by for a few drinks after dinner, it was gorgeous! My trying-to-hide-the-fact-that-I'm-taking-a-photo photos do not do it justice in the slightest - you must check out the website!
.
.
And of course, had to stop in Little Italy for some tasty pasta!
.

.

I promise- contrary to what it looks like, we did do more than eat and drink while there :)

I made a short school-visit to NYC two springs ago, and my favorite place to eat was called Stage Deli. Oh the cheesecake...

I'm totally jealous of your fab trip!! I'm thinking about visiting friends in NYC over NYE, but we'll see. It's might be a little too crazy for me during that time of year.

And I MUST know who the starlet you spotted was!!!

Oh wow!!! How did I miss these posts?? damn google reader. mmm...so it looks like they might of done authentic italian pretty good by the looks of your photos! I hope so..mmmm...I need to find some more authentic recipes to take me back to Roma..;)

oh and about ANTM...I agree 100% about your thoughts...Sundai shoulda been gone long ago. I thought Brittany was boring and was happy to see her go, although I didn't expect it.
I think it will most likely be down to erin and nicole..just a hunch. They both look the most modely of the bunch and have been consistently taking the best photos. and haha i have the same feelings about laura...she's quite adorable and seems so innocent at times. Her accent is hilarious.
Nicole is def my fav and I like her quirkiness..I can see most people being annoyed by her voice though..she's improved big time since they told her though.
yippers sorry for this long winded post...eeek.
