a few of my favorite things

As far as 'decorating' goes our house is fairly sparse. I have a hard time putting things out just for the sake of putting them out. I like them to have a story or history behind them that means something to us. Over the years I'm sure we will accrue more pieces here and there but these are a few of my favorites...

Random collection of antique books that each have a little back history on where they came from.

One of my favorite chicas gave us these as wedding gifts - there is a large mug with Husband's initial that sits with it. The fan sat in our kitchen growing up - it's never worked but I love the label.

The bug clock was my mother's and is one of the most strangely beautiful things I've ever seen. She actually found the seltzer bottle at a flea market around 15 years ago - it still has the price tag on the bottom which is one of my favorite parts (not sure why.)

Side note - the lovely Jessie from The Concrete Catwalk snapped my photo at the Night of Style event she hosted. It was a great event and I picked up two fabulous vintage pieces from her Spice Rack trunk show!
