I have a dress I bought a year or two ago. Love the dress. The problem? Its cream colored-which just kind of limits what it can be worn to. But I love it..
I have an event coming up this weekend (not a wedding) and this little number popped into my head. I began to wonder if I could dye it - get it to a warm gray for a better winter color. The problem? The dress is made of four layers of fabric and the bottom three? Polyester. boooo polyester.
After a little research on dyeing polyester I'm not sure I'm ready to take on that project. Anyone successfully dyed polyester? One option is dyeing the dress and hoping the top layer (nylon) takes and works with cream layers underneath. But I'm not sure what material the lace is and that could mean gray dress/white trim..
So my question:
can you wear a white dress in winter? I'm thinking black tights + black heels with a small black shrug/sweater. and I'm starting to like the idea - but a little unsure. I have my go-to purple dress as backup...but I'm also considering a dyeing attempt and we'll just see what happens. Thoughts?
